Career summary

On leaving University I joined the NHS through their National General Management Graduate Scheme and spent some 10 years working up to General Manager, including 2 years working in a military hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In-between I spent 4 years working in the pharmaceutical industry working with BASF (now Abbott), first working in a field sales role influencing payers before being promoted to Head of Strategy. The last 10 years have been spent running a business psychology consultancy. My breadth of experience over the last 20 years as a manager and psychologist within the private (corporate and SME) and public sectors has helped me work more effectively with clients to improve individual, team and organisational effectiveness.

I'm a Chartered Psychologist with a passion for the following areas of practice: assessment and selection (including the applied use of psychometric instruments and design of selection processes); performance appraisal and personal development; career management; organisational development; and management/leadership development.

Interesting fact: I'm a qualified PADI Scuba Diver, albeit one who is somewhat out of practice.

Career summary

After relocating back to Scotland, I joined MK Recruitment and Selection as a Trainee Consultant.
Within my nine years I progressed to Senior Consultant having developed my expertise in sourcing and client development across three keys sectors, oil and gas, food and drink and manufacturing.
Within the sectors I dealt with various disciplines and levels, very much enjoying not only the variety offered within the role but the obvious aspect of changing lives at any level within an organisation.

I made the career move to our sister company MK Business Psychology to use and develop both my proactive and reactive sourcing skills within the public and third sectors.
Even after almost ten years in this role, I still feel privileged  to have the trust of candidates to assist them in finding the next step in their career.

Interesting Fact: I love drawing and being creative. Family and friends regularly ask me to make framed pictures or cards for them to give as gifts.
